可能很多人还是对用现在进行时表示将来动作不太了解，所以我再举些例子来说明：
表示已经安排的事情：
I’m flying to Hong Kong tomorrow.
A: Are you donging anything tomorrow afternoon ?
B: Yes, I’m playing tennis with Betty.
I’m not going out tonight.I’m stying at home.

1.Past simple 一般过去时
请看下面的例句:
I work in a travel agency now.Before that I worked in a shop.
一般过去时表示一个过去发生的动作或存在的状态:
要注意 do 的用法：
What did you do at the weekend ?(而不是 'what did you at the weekend’)
I didn’t do anthing.(而不是'I didn’t anything’)
2.Past continuous 过去进行时
请看下面的例句:
Yesterday Karen and Jim played tennis.They began at 10 o’clock and finished at 11.30. So, at 10.30 they were playing tennis.
也就是说:
They were playing= they were in the middle of playing.They had not finished playing.
过去进行时主要表示过去某时的一个动作正在进行,在这个时间之前一个动作或状态已经开始但还没有结束:

This time last year I was living in Brazil.
What were you doing at 10 o’clock last night ?.
I waved to her but she wasn’t looking.
